First off, yes, I realize there are rematches on here, two to be exact. I always find those disappointing, but they do happen when there are no other options. There's the possibility that maybe the Armed Forces Bowl would want somebody other than Air Force for the third year in a row, but then that's kind of their draw and appeal. If you get AIR FORCE to play in the ARMED FORCES bowl, it just seems like a natural fit. Central Michigan, one again, gets to play in the Motor City Bowl, er, Little Caesars Pizza Bowl. How much you want to bet they serve 5 Dollar Hot and Ready's at the game? Anyone? Ugh, that name irritates me.

A couple of surprise teams I have on my radar are San Diego State and SMU. These two perennial bottom feeders I each have going 6-6. But, that's not saying a whole lot. I mean, after dissecting the Mountain West and not liking what New Mexico had to offer, that 6th bowl spot (provided one is in the BCS) is probably going to come down to UNLV and SDSU. I think the Aztecs might have a losing Mountain West record but wind up 6-6 because they play Southern Utah, Idaho, and New Mexico State in their non-conference slate. SMU on the other hand, I'm not really confident in at all. The Mustangs have a shot at winning 6 this year, no doubt, it's just that I don't have a good gauge on UAB, UCF, or UTEP. Either one of those three schools could be 6-6 as well. Just looking on the schedule though, SMU would have to beat four of five against Washington State, Rice, UTEP, Marshall, and Tulane, so that's my reasoning behind that one.

And yes, I have Texas/Florida. Big whoop. The Longhorns probably aren't going to make it, but the Gators are a total lock for the BCS title game. Even if it came down to 12-0 Penn State vs. 11-1 SEC champion Florida, the Gators get the nod. Oh yeah, TCU is also the non-BCS representative. I think Bruce Feldman had two and I actually think that could happen. Boise State in these bowl projections could be undefeated or 11-1.
